What to Know About Changes in Mercer and Lawrence Counties Recycling

12/13/2018

Residents of Mercer and Lawrence counties should be aware of changes being made regarding glass and plastic disposal, reported in The Sharon Herald last week.

As a result of changes in the global recycling market, the counties will no longer be able to support glass and plastic recycling. By the end of January, residents who use the two counties’ Big Blue Bin programs will not be able to dispose of glass and plastic at the drop-off sites in Mercer and Lawrence Counties. Residents can still use the Big Blue Bins to drop off paper and cardboard.

For those affected looking for an alternative, we're pleased to offer a solution. Current trash collection customers of Tri-County Industries can request recycling containers at no cost as a part of our free recycling services.
