DRIVERS:
We have a wide range of positions that may be currently open. Our driving positions require a CDL – Class A or B. Positions are local – no overnight trips.
1) Household Recycling Drivers:
a) Drivers both drive and pick up the recyclable stops at individual households by following the established route books.
b) Average number of stops can be between 750-1000 stops per day.
c) Good driving and safety record required.
d) Position involves repetitive lifting and twisting. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
e) Automatic and manual transmission experience preferred.
2) Household Drivers:
a) Drivers both drive and pick up the household refuse at the individual households by following established route books.
b) Average number of stops can be between 400-600 stops per day.
c) Some routes have higher stops but have a helper assigned.
d) Some routes are manually picked up and others are picked up through the use of an automated cart dumper.
e) Good driving and safety record required.
f) Position can involve repetitive lifting and twisting.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds required.
e) Automatic and manual transmission experience preferred.
3) Commercial Drivers
a) Drivers follow established routes to service commercial stops.
b) Regular hours on the commercial stops are for the third shift with starting time between
9:00 p.m.
and
midnight

c) Pickups can involve manual pushing and pulling on wheeled containers (weighing up to 250 lbs) to adjust containers and place in position for pickup by truck.
d) Good driving and safety record required.
e) Previous driving experience required.
f) Automatic and manual transmission experience preferred.
Candidates are interviewed and required to complete and successfully pass a road test during the interviewing process.
MECHANICAL/SHOP POSITIONS:
1) Journeyman - Class A
a. Must have Class A CDL Driver’s License
b. Must be able to rebuild and repair engines, transmissions and rear-ends.
c. Must be able to trouble-shoot and repair lighting, braking, steering, transmission, hydraulic and suspension systems.
d. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair fuel and electrical systems.
e. Must be knowledgeable of all equipment maintenance parts and repair.
f. Must be able to do state inspections.
2) Maintenance Mechanic – Class B
a. Must have minimum Class B driver’s license.
b. Must be able to replace major equipment components; i.e. engines, transmissions, rear ends.
c. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair lighting, braking, steering and suspension systems.
d. Must be knowledgeable of hydraulic systems—both troubleshooting and repair.
e. Must be able to do state inspections.
3) Maintenance Mechanic – Class C
a. Must be able to repair and change tires.
b. Must be able to repair and maintain equipment lights.
c. Must be able to reline brakes and replace equipment springs.
d. Must have Class C license.
4) Utility
a. Must be able to repair and change tires.
b. Must be able to complete lubrication and oil changes.
c. Must be able repair and maintain equipment lights.
d. Must be able to adjust brakes.
We offer an apprenticeship program for qualified candidates and require that perspective employees have their own hand tools.
Tri-County Industries offers our employees the following types of benefits:
1. Full time employment plus potential overtime. Employees are paid at an hourly rate plus time and one-half for overtime hours worked.
2. Work weeks can vary from 5-8 hour days to 4-10 hour days for the employee’s regular schedule.
3. Health, Life, AD&D and short-term disability benefits 1st of month after 90 days of employment.
4. Eligible for company-provided uniforms after 90 days.
5. Eligible for paid holidays after 90 days.
6. Eligible for paid vacations and personal days after 1 year of employment.
7. Eligible to participate in 401(k) and receive company contributions at enrollment period after six months of employment.
All potential employees must successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug test prior to beginning employment and are subject to ongoing random and other drug testing as required through our policy.
