1. Full time employment plus potential overtime. Employees are paid at an hourly rate plus time and one-half for overtime hours worked.
2. Work weeks can vary from 5-8 hour days to 4-10 hour days for the  employee’s regular schedule.

Job Opening Details

E.H.S. Specialist
Mars, PA
Vogel Holding, Inc. is seeking an E.H.S. Specialist to perform a wide variety of environmental, health, and safety functions within the organization. The E.H.S. Specialist also promotes understanding and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory mandates.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Train and orient new hire employees; provide routine training for employees in accordance with regulations and approved plans; and develop and customize training materials.

- Implement environmental and safety programs; and enforce E.H.S. policies and regulations.

- Facilitate Site Safety Committee Meetings.

- Ensure compliance with the new standards under OSHA’s Globally Harmonized System for Hazard Communication and meet any established deadlines for implementation.

- Suggest resources and solutions to execute E.H.S. issues’ improvements.

- Compile data and assist in the preparation of reports for submission to various regulatory agencies.

- Enter data and upload files into the Safety Management System (SMS) and the Environmental Management System (EMS). Demonstrate the ability to perform this task with precision.

- Engage in incident investigations; and compile and submit Safety Manager Reports in a timely manner and in accordance with Company standards.

- Conduct routine facility inspections and driver audits; document and maintain these records; analyze data for trends; and prepare reports.

- Gather, organize, and prepare environmental samples for testing according to prescribed standards; organize and record data and prepare summaries and charts for review and analysis.

- Maintain accurate notes, records, photographs, and sketches to describe and certify work performed and provide evidence for legal action.

- Perform similar work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelors Degree in Environmental or Safety Management, or related field; and minimum 2 years experience.

- Possession of a valid PA Driver’s License and ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.

- Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and DEP regulations.

- Employee will be asked to provide their own safety shoes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to conduct visual inspection of facilities and negotiate uneven and rough terrain in varying weather conditions.

- Ability to provide information verbally, non-verbally, and in writing using language style, organization, and format appropriate to the subject matter, purpose, and audience; read English at a level necessary to examine, interpret, and apply legal, technical, and complex environmental guidelines, documents, records, and reports; speak English at a level necessary to communicate clearly and effectively; and write English at a level necessary to produce concise, accurate, and impartial reports, narratives, summaries, and recommendations.
